About Kate
Coach Kate was born and raised in the Czech Republic, where she was inspired and coached by her father – a sport and cycling fanatic. She shared his passion, and as a result her racing career started at a very young age; she competed in the Czech XC MTB as a junior and also took part in a few triathlons and MTB Marathons.
After graduating from a 3-year degree in Sport Management in the Czech Republic, Kate decided to spread her wings and left her beloved home country to study Personal Training in Cape Town, South Africa.
She quickly fell in love with all Cape Town had to offer – it’s friendly people, the active lifestyle, the great climate and the beautiful landscapes. She recognized the opportunity it presented – being able to cycle and benefit from the sunny weather throughout the year would support both her professional coaching career as well as her passion for racing.
“Cape Town has become my home away from home, and settling here has been one of the best decisions of my life!”

Kate’s Training Methodology
To every question about training there are a multitude of answers and the optimal training approach for any individual will always depend on their background, their aspirations, their commitment to cycling and their available time. Each individual responds to training very differently, requiring a different level of support, advice, encouragement and motivation according to the psychology of the rider.
“In order to coach you effectively it is essential that I take enough time to gain the required detailed knowledge about you as a rider. I need to understand what kind of cyclist you are, establish your targets and what inspires you, as well as grasp your cycling likes and dislikes. This knowledge will help me determine which particular training methods will be most beneficial for you. I like to combine cycling training with strength and core training.
